It’s a new month, and we’re hoping to kickstart it in emphatic style with a huge 92/1 treble on the BTTS & Win market. After going close on a couple of occasions in September, let’s hope October will be a little kinder.
As always, we’ve picked three teams to all win their respective matches without keeping a clean sheet. This week, it’s a Football League treble, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for the big win.
Here are our selections.
Preston North End v Aston Villa
Life in the Championship hasn’t been easy for Aston Villa, and Roberto Di Matteo’s men make this weekend’s trip to Deepdale having failed to win any of their last eight matches. However, the Villans will be confident about ending that run with a win against struggling Preston.
Seven of those eight Villa matches have been draws, and they’ve often been pegged back late on, so they aren’t a million miles away from where they want to be. Wth Rudy Gestede and Ross McCormack in attack, the visitors certainly aren’t short of attacking threats. It should show against a home side that joins them on just 10 points after 10 matches.
Simon Grayson’s hosts do have goals in them, and boast six in five home games. But while Jermaine Beckford and co. can cause problems, their own defensive weaknesses could come back to haunt them.
It’s unlikely to be the biggest scoring match of the day, but both teams will fancy their chances of scoring. On this occasion, though, we’re backing the visitors to finally grab a win.

Northampton Town v Bristol Rovers
The Cobblers may have seen their incredible unbeaten league run come to an end a fortnight ago, but Robert Page’s men have bounced back in tremendous fashion with comfortable wins over Southend and Swindon. They’ll be confident about making it three on the bounce as they take on Bristol Rovers.
Confidence is extremely high at the Sixfields right now and, while it might be early days, whispers of a second successive promotion are already emerging. Another three points on Saturday would give their hopes a significant boost, and they’ll be looking to the experienced duo of Alex Revell and Matty Taylor to provide further inspiration.
Like Northampton, Darrell Clarke’s men have enjoyed a positive start to the season following last year’s promotion. Three in a row might be a little too ambitious for the Pirates but they’ll be looking to their own Matty Taylor, who has six league goals, for goals against Northampton.
The sides shared a 2-2 draw when they met back in April, and we fancy more goals here. With home advantage and momentum on their side, though, the host should prevail.

Portsmouth v Doncaster Rovers
The headline fixture from League Two comes from Fratton Park as fourth host third, and both Portsmouth and Doncaster will be desperate to fire a warning shot to their promotion rivals. While there’s always a chance that they could cancel each other out, this one has the potential to be a cracker.
After a number of disappointing seasons, Pompey finally look like a team that could be capable of promotion under Paul Cook, and it’s thank largely to their home form. The hosts have won four of five matches on home turf this term, scoring 15 times in the process. If Gary Roberts and co. can continue their purple patch in front of goal, another crucial three points could be on the cards.
Doncaster won’t make it easy for the hosts, though, and will be looking to increase their tally of 10 on the road. John Marquis and Andrew Williams are more than capable of putting the visitors on the scoreboard, but they will need to tighten up at the back.
Rovers have conceded nine away goals already, losing two of their last three in the process. While they should keep up their record of scoring in every match on the road, we think they will succumb to the in-form hosts.
