Three teams to win. No clean sheets. A 91/1 treble. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect recipe to get the festivities up and running in style, we don’t know what does!
The BTTS & Win coupon is a favourite with punters looking to win big, and we couldn’t picture a better time of year to do just that. Let’s hope these three clubs can help us along the way.
Good luck!
Charlton Athletic v Peterborough United
A run of four wins in five league games has shot Grant McCann’s Posh into the play-off zone and they’ll be eager to stay there for Christmas with a win at Charlton. While the Addicks are improving, the visitors can be confident about securing the three points.
Peterborough are often a firm favourite on the BTTS coupon, and they’ve scored 33 times in 20 games this term. Meanwhile, their away record shows that they both score and concede more than once a game.
Charlton’s form has improved, and they will be eager to increase their tally of 14 home games. But while Karl Robinson’s men have only conceded seven at the Valley, it’s worth noting that that Addicks have failed to win any of their last four matches – even if they are unbeaten in four league matches too.
The hosts should fancy their chances of scoring but Peterborough carry the far greater incentive. Expect that to show with a vital away win.
BTTS & Peterborough United Win @ 9/2
Carlisle United v Yeovil Town
Despite losing to Barnet last weekend, Darren Way’s Yeovil have enjoyed a far better run of things in recent weeks. Unfortunately for the Glovers, their final game before Christmas is likely to be one that ends in defeat as they make the long trip to Carlisle.
The visitors had gone eight games unbeaten prior to that 1-0 loss, and that should give them confidence at Brunton Park, especially as the hosts enter the clash having lost back-to-back home cup games before drawing away at Luton.
Nevertheless, Keith Curle’s Cumbrians remain undefeated at home in the league in spite of conceding 11 goals in 10 matches. Thankfully for the hosts, a frontline that has returned 22 home goals often compensates for those defensive weaknesses and that should be the case once more against an away side that has conceded 14 on the road.
Yeovil can certainly score, particularly given Carlisle’s recent competitive wobbles. However, the home side’s added quality should shine through.

Chester v Aldershot Town
With just one defeat in their last 16 league games, Jonathan McCarthy’s Chester are one of the National League’s more consistent sides. Unfortunately, too many draws means that they are likely to miss out on the play-offs, but they can at least be confident about securing all three points as they welcome Aldershot to the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.
The hosts have won seven of 12 matches at home this term, netting an impressive 26 times in the process. Strikers Kane Richards and James Alabi will certainly fancy their chances against a team that’s shipped 16 in 12 on the road. Frankly, that firepower should lead them to an important three points.
Aldershot will carry a threat in attack, and will be looking to score for a fourth competitive away game in five. Scott Rendell and co. are more than capable, especially as Chester have conceded 13 at home, but we just don’t see Gary Waddock’s men scoring more than once against a strong home side.
We’re backing both teams to score but, on this occasion, think the hosts will secure the win.
