The BTTS & Win coupon has the potential to land huge profits for small stakes and a relatively small number of selections. That’s exactly what we’re looking to capitalise on this Saturday with a treble that offers odds of just under 40/1.
We’ve picked three teams from the English leagues to pick up three points but don’t think any of them will register a clean sheet. Let’s hope we’re right, because the returns would be over £400 from a tenner!
Here are our selections.
Crystal Palace v Chelsea
After a terrible start to the campaign, an encounter with the champions is one of the last things Crystal Palace will want following the international break. However, the London derby may be the perfect opportunity for Roy Hodgson’s men to show signs of improvement, even if a positive result does look highly unlikely.
Palace’s first challenge is to find the net in a league game. While injuries to key attacking players makes that all the more difficult, the likes of Andros Townsend, Bakary Sako and Jason Puncheon can grab goals. Meanwhile, this Chelsea defence has been less solid than last season too in spite of still being one of the strongest in the division.
Even if the hosts do grab a goal, it’s hard to see them sealing their first points. After conceding nine in their last two games before the break, they will be fearful against Eden Hazard and co. If Antonio Conte’s men turn on the heat, it could be another bad day at the office for Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.
It should be a fairly routine win for the visitors but Palace can get a little joy with their first league goal of 2017/18.
Peterborough United v Gillingham
In League One, Peterborough United have enjoyed a fantastic opening quarter to the season but will be a little concerned by back-to-back defeats against Oldham and Oxford. Fortunately for their supporters, a home match against Gillingham should be the perfect opportunity to seal a return to winning ways.
If Posh are going to seal three points at London Road, however, they may be forced to do it the hard way. Grant McCann’s men aren’t known for keeping many clean sheets, shipping 11 in six home games in spite of winning four, and could be even more vulnerable given their recent form.
Then again, Gillingham boast just one away goal all season so it would be difficult to see the visitors punishing Peterborough too much. Having already notched 22 league goals this term, Jack Marriott and co. should be more than capable of grabbing a couple here.
A home win looks likely, let’s just home Posh also keep up their trend of providing BTTS winners too.
Notts County v Barnet
An unbeaten home record has played a major factor in Notts County’s early season success and Kevin Nolan will be eager to see his side extend that run to seven with another three points against an out-of-form Barnet. Nevertheless, they shouldn’t expect to have things all their own way at Meadow Lane.
Barnet might be struggling for results but a return of nine goals in six away games is more pleasing for Rossi Eames’ men. Shaquille Coulthirst continues to pose a threat too, and that could see the Bees find the net, even if the Magpies do boast a solid defence.
The hosts don’t only rely on their defence, though, and the likes of Jon Stead and Lewis Alessandra will be in the mood for goals against an away side that’s leaked 10 on its travels already. With the possibility of going top on the cards too, it won’t be difficult for them to find motivation.
We’re backing both teams to score. However, if either team is likely to score two or more in this one, it has to be the hosts.
