Six teams. Six goals. And a wonderful weekend winner. That’s the plan for Saturday afternoon and, thanks to 888sport, our acca could land you a treble the odds payout.
But even if you’ve already got an account, a potential payout of over £50 from a £10 stake will be more than tempting for this three chosen matches, which come from the Championship, League One, and National League respectively.
Here are our selections.
Nottingham Forest v Sheffield Wednesday
Results haven’t always been great for Nottingham Forest this term, but goals have been a common feature for the Reds all season. The managerial situation at the club hasn’t changed that trend, and there’s a great chance that we’ll see yet more drama at the City Ground on Saturday.
Forest 26 goals in just 15 home games this term while the frontline of Britt Assombalonga, Ross McCormack, Zach Clough and co. should give them confidence against the Owls, not least because the visitors have been conceding at a rate of just over one goal per game on their travels.
Wednesday are currently chasing the play-offs, though, and will see this as another winnable fixture. Given that they enter this clash on the back of three straight wins, combined with the fact Forest have shipped 20 at home, Jordan Rhodes and his fellow strikers should fancy their chances.
The Owls registered a 2-1 win in the reverse clash, and a repeat scoreline wouldn’t surprise here. Either way, we do expect to see goals.

Chesterfield v Bury
League One rivals chesterfield and Bury both enter the weekend sitting in the bottom four, but a win in this one could provide a massive boost in either team’s respective survival bid. It’s certainly a game that both clubs will pinpoint as a potential victory, and that will hopefully lead to an action-packed showdown at the Proact.
Bury haven’t been scoring frequently, but the appointment of Lee Clark as manager should give them a boost of momentum as they make the trip to Derbyshire. Scoring hasn’t been their main issue on the road anyway, as the Shakers have grabbed 21 on their travels. Increasing that tally shouldn’t be too much of a challenge on Saturday.
The visitors have been far less effective in the defensive third, though, conceding 33 times in 16 away games. While Chesterfield aren’t the most frequent scorers, Gary Caldwell’s men should have a good chance o increasing their tally too. Quite frankly, they need to.
It could go either way, but it should be a BTTS winner – just as it was at Gigg Lane in September.

Gateshead v Forest Green Rovers
Down in the National League, Gateshead are hanging on to their play-off dreams by a thread. Neil Aspin’s men may have won their last two games, but they’ll need to be at their best to register another win on Saturday because they face one of the division’s strongest outfits in Forest Green.
The hosts do score a lot of goals at the Gateshead International Stadium, though, posting a total of 29 in 16 games so far. Meanwhile, in spite of their form, the visitors have conceded 18 times on the road too, which will provide even greater inspiration for Dan Johnson and co.
Forest Green’s attacking record is particularly impressive, however, and a return of 33 goals in 15 away games has seen them register 10 wins already. The title is still a possibility for Mark Cooper’s men too, which should give them an even greater incentive in what is admittedly a difficult fixture.
Both teams attack better than they defend, and they each have every reason to attack this game in a positive manner too. Let’s just hooe those two frontlines deliver.
