Greetings, friends. I have not quite found my MLS groove yet, but hang in there; hopefully we can find it together. This will be a different type of week, as there are only three MLS matches this week due to the international break.
These matches are all on Saturday:
- NYCFC vs. New England Revolution (7.00pm UK): NYC has a win, a draw and a loss, while the Revs are winless so far with a loss and two draws. Both of these teams have conceded 6 goals in three matches. The Revs have only 11 on target shots this season, half of NYC’s 22. It seems to make sense then that NYC would have twice as many goals as NE – 6 vs. 3.
- Then we have Dallas visiting DC United (9.00pm UK). I do like these over trends:
Jul 18, 2015 | DAL | 2 – 1 | DC |
Apr 26, 2014 | DC | 4 – 1 | DAL |
May 11, 2013 | DAL | 2 – 1 | DC |
Mar 30, 2012 | DC | 4 – 1 | DAL |
While these look good, both teams are having trouble scoring this season.
DC has just two goals in their first 270+ minutes of play, while Dallas has 4.
- Last but not least, we have the scoring/conceding Houston Dynamo visiting Vancouver (03.00am Sunday UK). The Dynamo have scored 11 goals through their first three games – the most of any team in MLS history after three games. There have been 18 goals in the three Dynamo matches! The Whitecaps have a win and two losses, with 11 total goals in their matches.
So, three matches – Who should we put our hard earned money on?
Bronze, Silver and Gold Spikes – After running through analyses, and various scenarios, my sense is that each of these matches will feature at least three goals. I am betting the Over 2.5 goals on each match.
Good luck to you. I wish you and your families a very blessed Easter. It has been a difficult week all over the globe. We all need to take this time to reflect on our good fortune. Embrace the difference!
