Martin here. So, there’s no Premier League football to sink our teeth into this weekend. But on a brighter note, the FA Cup 5th round promises to be a cracker. And I’m sticking to that competition for my anytime goalscorer selections.
I’m backing three players to all find the target. As usual, Ill be backing all three players as singles. In addition, though, I’ll be playing the treble at odds of just under 25/1. And if you’ve yet to open an account with 888sport, you can treble those odds too.
Now that’s the magic of the cup right there!
Arsenal V Hull City. 3PM
BET: Danny Welbeck to score anytime @ 5/3 with 888sport
The forgotten man announced his return to action in dramatic style with last week’s winner against Leicester City. And I think Mr Welbeck will give his hopes of a late Euro 2016 inclusion another boost by firing Arsenal to victory against Hull.
Welbeck is probably a little short of match fitness, which makes him an unlikely starter against Barcelona next Tuesday. With that in mind, Arsene Wenger could place trust in last week’s match winner from the start in this cup clash. In my opinion, the England star will score if he starts.
Even if the Gunners do rest players, they’ll be eager to avoid a replay due to league and European commitments. Besides, Hull have one eye on promotion themselves. The Gunners will create chances against the team they beat in the 2014 final, I’d fancy them to win with a two or three goal cushion.
I’d suggest waiting for team news first. If he does start, though, Welbeck to score at anytime has to be included in this week’s punt.
Bournemouth V Everton. 3PM
BET: Ross Barkley to score anytime @ 3/1 with 888sport
It’s not been the greatest of seasons for Roberto Martinez’s men, but the Toffees have a genuine chance of doing something special in the cup. After going so close in the Capital One Cup, I’d expect them to put huge effort into this competition, and believe they will edge past the Cherries here.
Eddie Howe’s men would love to cap their maiden Premier League campaign with a great cup run, but league survival is the priority. At this stage of the season, they wouldn’t be blamed for taking a cautious approach.
The visitors had been in great form before a crazy loss against West Brom, and Ross Barkley had been the architect of many great things. The England man has shown immense talent as he aims to tie down a Euro 2016 starting berth, and he could give another timely reminder to Roy Hodgson with a starring performance here.
I’m backing Barkley to be Man of the Match, and think he’ll find the target too.
Watford V Leeds United. 3PM
BET: Troy Deeney to score anytime @ 7/5 with 888sport
Quique Flores’s Hornets have been the unsung heroes of this year’s Premier League season, and they are essentially safe before we’ve even reached the business end. That gives them a fantastic opportunity to focus on the FA Cup, and a favourable home tie with Leeds is a great chance to seal their place in round six.
Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo have enjoyed a phenomenal campaign together, and the deadly partnership could put sorry Leeds to the sword here. In truth, I could’ve picked either Watford striker to be the hero here, but I’m going for the captain because he’s a better price.
Deeney has eight league goals to his name this term, and also scored in Watford’s 3rd round win over Newcastle at Vicarage Road. At 7/5 against an away side facing real problems on and off the field, I’m backing the Hornets skipper to sting the Championship side as my bet of the day.
If he does and is joined by Barkley and Welbeck, I’ll be jumping for the skies.
After all, a £10 treble using the 888sport treble the odds offer returns a huge £748.90. Even if you’re not a new customer, a payout of over £250 certainly appeals.
