With England qualifying for the World Cup we now have something to look forward to next summer, but in the meantime it’s back to the bread and butter.. domestic football. This is what makes the money and I’ve got a couple of nice bets for this weekend.
After studying the stats and figures here are my best two goals related bets for this Saturday. Good luck if you follow!
Blackpool v Wigan 12.15pm
BET – Blackpool to score first goal – 11/10
The odds on this bet really surprised me. Yes it’s a bit of a derby and it’s sure to be a tightly contested affair, but the stats don’t lie, and Blackpool are yet to concede the first goal in ANY game so far this season. After 11 games Blackpool have scored first in 9 of them and drew the other 2 0-0.
Wigan on the other hand have taken a while to get going, resulting in them scoring the first goal in a game on just 3 occasions.
It’s clear to see here that Blackpool are very quick out of the blocks while the visitors take a bit of time to warm to the game. Even money about the home side scoring first here looks a real gift.
It’s also worth noting that Blackpool have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 9 home league games.
Tranmere v Leyton Orient 3.00pm
BET – Leyton Orient over 1.5 team goals – 20/21 Ladbrokes
Tranmere are having a terribly dissapointing season which has seen them earn just 8 points to date after 11 games. They sit in 21st position in the league and now have to face surprise package and table toppers Leyton Orient this weekend.
Leyton Orient are the only team in England that are undefeated this term and they show no signs of slipping up any time soon. 29 points after 11 games is a huge return, and confidence will be buzzing for their visit to Prenton Park.
Tranmere have already suffered some heavy home defeats so far, not least the 5-0 drubbing 2nd places Peterborough gave them at the end of August, as well as the 4-3 loss to Brentford.
Orient have scored 11 goals in their last 5 away games and I’m very confident they’ll hit at least 2 here. Tranmere have conceded 13 goals in their 5 home games so far which hardly makes them solid defensively.
