I can be pretty pleased with how yesterday has panned out so far. My bet of Manchester City on a +1.5 asian handicap came in very easily after looking doomed early on, but I’ll have to wait until today to see if Galatasaray can get at least a draw as their game against Juve was abandoned on the half hour because of a huge snowfall.
Anyway, on to Wednesday’s action. Here are what I’m having a go at today:
AC Milan v Ajax – 7.45pm
Advised Bet – Ajax +1 asian handicap – 4/5
I’m siding with Ajax on a + handicap here. AC Milan have pulled their act together recently after a shocking start to their domestic and Champions League campaign, and this clash tonight is massive for both sides… The winner will progress to the knockout stage, but Milan only need a draw.
Ajax stunned Barcelona by beating them 2-1 on matchday 5; the game that kept their dreams alive. Another win at the San Siro and they’ve made it reality. If they are to lose this game then I can’t see it being by a margin any more than 1 goal as Milan will want to keep things as tight as possible. We will of be refunded our stake if Ajax lose by a single goal.
The Dutch side are on a streak of 6 straight wins in all competitions, which includes wins over Celtic and Barcelona in the CL. Form has to be a guide, and I just can’t see them losing this game, although we know how hard it is to win at the San Siro.
Marseille v Borussia Dortmund – 7.45pm
Advised Bet – Marseille +1.5 asian – 8/11
Marseille are out of the Champions League, have no chance of making the Europa League. Therefore this is a nothing game for them. Dortmund need a win to guarantee progression into the knockout stages. So why am I backing the home side +1.5? Aside from the fact I don’t think they’ll lose by 2 goals, I just don’t think Dortmund are playing like themselves recently.
There’s no doubt that this game has been in hteoir minds for a couple of weeks now, but we all know what happens when there is plenty of pressure involved, this time against a team that will feel no pressure at all.
Marseille lost 2-1 at home to both Arsenal and Napoli, covering today’s handicap of +1.5. I just don’t think Dortmund will cruise to a win in this game, and I’m happy having a 1 goal cushion in favour of the home side.
