Eastleigh v Macclesfield
5/10 Macclesfield +0.25AH 2.15
Macclesfield continue to hold value for us with the bookies despite their excellent season which sees them currently involved in the race for top spot along with faltering Barnet as well as Grimsby and Bristol Rovers. Macclesfield have not had a game for two weeks and will be refreshed going into the tie with plenty of preparation for this important match.
Eastleigh have also done well but require to finish in the Play Offs to have reached their target. At the Silverlake Stadium, they are strong but I have to swing with the Macclesfield line as Eastleigh have stuttered in recent times and are out of form. Some odd results in the past few weeks have shown them to be far from convincing.
Kidderminster v Halifax
2/10 Under 2.5 Goals 1.83
These two sides are hard battlers and I expect that sort of game this Saturday. The Kidderminster pitch is hardly a carpet and teams do not particularly enjoy playing away here.
Halifax are known for being a physical side who play quite directly. I think these two sides can cancel each other out and we could be in store for a low scoring affair.
Kidderminster have won just once in six league games and have hit the back of the net just twice.
Altrincham v Barnet
2/10 Both teams to score-NO 2.28
Barnet have hit their first bad patch in the league which has resulted in Bristol Rovers overtaking the Bees. 2015 has not been a fruitful as 2014 and that will need to change if they are to get promoted. Barnet require maximum to points to ensure they are back in pole position but face a tough task with Altrincham providing plenty of mettle this season.
John Akinde has been suspended and Barnet have struggled to find the net during this time, Akinde returns this weekend but Altrincham can keep things tight. It should be a close game.
This week, manager Martin Allen has been unable to attend training with flu which has been left to the players to undertake. Not ideal preparation.
Nuneaton v Welling
3/10 Both teams to score 1.80
Quite simply, both teams need to win this. A draw will not help either side and they should both go for this as they will be expecting three points. The classic “six pointer”. Nuneaton are second from bottom while Welling have spiralled towards relegation after seven straight defeats.
