Wrexham v Lincoln
2/10 Wrexham -0.5AH 1.98
Wrexham have improved their league form in 2015 and the players seem keen to perform to hold down a place for their Wembley trip for the FA Trophy final. Todays visitors Lincoln are very low in morale after an abysmal season. Their away for is shocking and manager Chris Moyeses is very much under pressure.
The home defeat to Welling last weekend was one of the worst of the season and the 0-0 in midweek at Alfreton was a truly drab affair. Striker Delano Sam-Yorke remains suspended for the Imps and it is difficult to see where results are going to come from.
Wrexham have picked up some very good results in recent times, on Tuesday they went away to high flying Eastleigh and took away a point in a 2-2 draw, and also thrashed Altrincham 4-1 away from home, a 1-0 home win over rivals Chester was another morale booster for the club. Louis Moult is in great form with 13 goals to his name for the season.
Altrincham v Halifax
3/10 Halifax 0AH 1.74
Altrincham are happy after a reasonable season which will see them finish midway, in fact Alty seemed to have hit their summer holidays early and appear to have lost interest. Halifax on the other hand have Play off aspirations and this added motivation leaves The Shaymen with an advantage here.
Both sides have won just once in seven and is likely to be quite tight. Halifax come into the tie on the back of two incredibly tough home games drawing both against Bristol Rovers (2-2) and Barnet (1-1) who are 2nd and 1st in the division. Those two results will give them the confidence to push on for the rest of the season.
Alfreton v Chester
3/10 Alfreton 0AH 2.07
Alfreton may have slept walked through the midweek 0-0 but they will see this tie as the one they are more likely to snatch maximum points. Chester have little to play for with a midtable finish looking assured. The Reds are in better form here.
Alfreton Town have gone 400 minutes without conceding a league goal which is unheard of at this level, especially for a side who are fighting for survival. Unbeaten in four games but the battle for safety is still on-going an home victories will be vital with the Reds currently four points above the abyss. Alfreton have a full squad to choose from with Dan Bradley expected to return. Today Jake Speight has re-signed for the club which is another big boost.
Chester seem to be going through the motions. Midweek they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to a particularly poor Dartford side. George Thomson is out injured while forward Oliver McBurnie is away on international duty with the Scotland under-19s and will be a big loss.
Macclesfield v Nuneaton
4/10 Macclesfield -0.75ah 1.91
Just when an open invitation for top spot in the division came available for the first time season, Macclesfield decided to run into a run of bad form .There is no better way to bounce back than at home to the worst away side in the league.
Anything but a win for Macclesfield will see them surrender their automatic promotion challenge and settle for a Play Off battle. I cannot see it happening. Nuneaton are unbeaten in five with their goal keeper almost picking up five man of the match award which tells you all you need to know. I can see Nuneaton’s luck running out here.
Woking v Forest Green
4/10 Forest Green +0.25ah 1.91
Massive game and one of the games of the day in the Conference along with Grimsby V Eastleigh. These two sides are rivals for a Play off place with Woking looking unlikely to make it if they suffer a defeat while Forest Green can remove Woking from their radar with three points.
This is a classic ‘six-pointer’ Forest Green haven’t lost in 12 league matches and has included terrific results such as comfortably defeating Barnet at the hive a short time ago. A boost in morale for Green was the midweek results which saw Play Off contenders Halifax and Eastleigh drop points. If any more confidence was needed Forest Green played League Two Newport County in a friendly in the week and won 8-0.
