The pick of Thursday’s football schedule comes courtesy of the Europa League, and we’re looking to celebrate what should be an entertaining evening with this BTTS & Win treble.
With the chance to win £900 from a £10 stake, it has to be worth a punt. All we need is these three teams to win without keeping a clean sheet.
Good luck!
Augsburg V AZ Alkmaar. 8:05PM
With just three points from a possible nine each, both Augsburg and AZ will enter this Group L clash knowing that only a win will do. In theory, that should lead to an attack-minded affair at WWK Arena, which is why we expect a game of goals.
The Germans will be fancied to clinch the points, though, especially after they landed a 1-0 victory in Holland two weeks ago. Markus Weinzieri’s men have also scored six goals in their past two domestic fixtures alone, and will be keen to add a few more to their tally here.
That loss to Augsburg was AZ’s only blank in nine recent fixtures, and John van der Brom’s will fancy their chances of goals. Markus Henriksen and Vincent Janssen are more than capable of causing the home side some problems.
Unfortunately, the Dutch side have conceded seven goals in their last two league games. If that form continues in this Europa League clash, it could be a great night for the Germans.
BTTS & Augsburg Win @ 2/1
Rosenborg V Lazio. 8:05PM
As expected, Italian giants Lazio are well on target to reach the last 32 and could virtually seal their progression from G by beating Rosenborg at the Lerkendal. However, Stefano Pioli’s men shouldn’t expect things all their own way on Norwegian soil.
The visitors have lost two games on the spin, conceding five in the process, while Rosenborg have scored seven goals in two outings since their defeat at the Stadio Olimpico a fortnight ago. In fact, Kare Ingebrigsten’s men have scored 13 goals in their last five matches alone. On home turf, the duo of Alex Soderlund and Pal Helland are more than capable of scoring.
However, Rosenborg do tend to concede a lot, including three in each of their last two matches. Meanwhile, Lazio have found the target in nine consecutive matches. With the likes of Alessandro Matri and Felipe Anderson ready to bring them success, it would be a surprised if they fire a blank here.
All three of Lazio’s games have ended in BTTS winners while their home match against Rosenborg saw them clinch a 3-1 win. A similar scoreline in Norway wouldn’t surprise us one bit.
BTTS & Lazio Win @ 4/1
Sparta Prague V Schalke 04. 8:05PM
Group K rivals Sparta Prague and Schalke shared four goals in an entertaining draw two weeks ago in Germany. And we have every reason to believe this could be one of the games of the day as they meet in this return clash at the Generali Arena.
Schalke haven’t enjoyed the best of form lately, with Andre Breitenreiter’s men registering two defeats and a draw since last facing Sparta. However, they do boast seven point from nine in this competition and will be confident about clinching another victory here, especially if Franco Di Santo performs as he did two weeks ago.
However, Zdenk Scasny’s men do have attacking qualities and have at least found the target in all three group games so far. Veteran striker David Lafata should prove to be a constant threat while Kehinde Fatai is enjoying some decent form too.
The host should score but, with a guaranteed place in the last 32 on offer for a win, we expect the Germans to prevail.
