All we needed was a late Morecambe goal to secure a huge 110/1 winner on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, it didn’t come, but we’re hopeful of making amends in style with this 73/1 weekend punt that will actually pay over £200 if you take advantage of the treble the odds offer at 888sport.
We’ve picked three matches from the Football League to end in BTTS winners. Only, we also need our selected team in each match to come away with the points too. Let’s just pray we go one better than midweek.
Come on!
Bristol City V Middlesbrough
Championship leaders Middlesbrough are flying at the minute and enter this weekend’s action having claimed 25 points from the last available 27. Their quality should see them through against lowly Bristol City, but they can still expect to face a difficult test at Ashton Gate.
Despite keeping four consecutive clean sheets on the road, it is worth noting that 10 of Boro’s 12 goals conceded have come away from the Riverside. With the spirited hosts posting 13 in 12 at home, and in desperate need of points, the Robins could well be the ones to end that running clean sheet on Saturday.
Nevertheless, this shouldn’t panic Boro fans too much. Aitor Karanka’s men have plenty of firepower amongst their ranks. David Nugent, Kike, Christian Stuani and Albert Adomah have all got goals in them, and that should put the out-of-form hosts to bed.
Bristol City are the only side to sneak a win at the Riverside this season, but they could be on the wrong end of a painful result. But at odds of 7/2, we’re backing them to score too.

Peterborough United V Southend United
In League One, Southend have started the post-Christmas run with three defeats and 11 goals conceded, which has left Phil Brown fuming. The manager reportedly kept his side locked in for two hours after letting a two-goal lead slip at Swindon last weekend, and he should prepare himself for another bad afternoon at London Road.

The visitors will be up against it as they take on a Posh side that’s currently residing in the last play-off spot. Graeme Westley’s men will be eager to keep their promotion bid running strong, and the firepower of Conor Washington and co should give them a fantastic chance.
Peterborough do tend to concede, though, and Southend will be fancied to increase their tally of 19 away goals. Right now, though, confidence is so low that those defensive deficiencies could cost them dearly.
We have every reason to think both teams will score. On this occasion, though, we have to fancy the home side to win.

Barnet V Carlisle United
Every game feels like an away game for Keith Curle’s Cumbrians right now, but they head to the Hive on Saturday knowing that they are in for an extremely difficult test against one of League Two’s best home sides. Even if the visitors do keep up their knack of scoring, the Bees have to be fancied to win.
Barnet have won eight of 13 matches on home soil, losing just three, and have also netted 22 times in the process. They’ve kept clean sheets in each of their last two home matches too, but we can’t see that happening against an away side that has registered 18 on its travels.
Nevertheless, the journeys will be taking it out of the visitors and there’s a good chance that their goals against tally will climb from 20 in 11 away games. After all, the hosts have got some decent firepower in John Akinde and Aaron McLean, which could be enough to fire Martin Allen’s men to another win.
It was a 3-2 win for Carlisle when the sides met in September. In truth, it wouldn’t surprise us if the reverse clash brings a reverse scoreline too.
