We’ve only got another bloody international break to deal with this week. However, I was overjoyed to see a bit of National League and Johnstones Paint Trophy action during midweek. Tuesday night definitely looks good for goals, so here’s my BTTS treble. All thoroughly researched as always.
On a sidenote, I can’t stress enough the importance of getting this bet on at 888sport while they’ve got an offer going that you’d be foolish not to take advantage of…. They will treble the odds of this bet when you open an account with them… And pay you out in cash and not free bets!
Grimsby Town v Gateshead 7.45pm
This was the first game in the National League that really caught my eye for both teams to score. Home side Grimsby have hit BTTS in 11 of their 14 league games to date, with 6 of their 7 home games coming up trumps for this bet.
In terms of form, Grimsby need to pick it up a little bit. They’ve got a serious case of drawitis at the moment – 4 of their last 5 games have ended in a stalemate. However they are scoring goals, and a 4-0 away win at Southport just over a week ago was a welcome result.
This bet will pay around £140 for a £10 stake when you open an 888sport account. You won’t get anywhere near that at another bookie. Take the offer while you can!
Visitors Gateshead currently hold a play off position berth and will be looking to build on that. The Gateshead side are a bit of an inconsistent bunch results wise. Eyecatching wins over leaders Forest Green and Wrexham have been marred by home losses to Welling and Dover. However, and handily – they too are scoring goals. In fact they’ve failed to score on just one occasion this season.
Grimsby are yet to keep a clean sheet at Blundell Park this term and there’s no reason to believe that they’re going to have a shut out in this clash. You would expect Grimsby to take the points here the majority of the time, but there’s likely to be goals for either sides.
Welling United v Bromley 7.45pm
Another stand out game for the likelihood of goals for both sides. Welling United have really picked up their form after an appalling start to the season. With just 6 points won after their first 10 league games, the Kent side have won their last 4 on the bounce – the most impressive of those being a 2-1 victory on the road at Gateshead.
The signs are encouraging, but Bromley come into this game looking for a quick pick me up. The visitors had won 6 on the spin scoring a whopping 20 goals in the process before being humbled 4-0 at Tranmere last weekend. It’s very likely that Welling will be the target of some serious compensation.
Looking at the head to head history of this game, there have been plenty of goals scored. 5 of the last 6 meetings between these in all competitions since 2011 have seen both teams find the net. This game should be no different.
Millwall v Northampton Town 7.45pm
My final BTTS pick to round off the treble comes from the Johnstones Paint Trophy. It’s a competition that can be hit or miss for goals but this one looks set up to contain a few of them.
Home side Millwall picked up a couple of key injuries in midfield at the weekend (Jimmy Abdou and Edward Upson) and I don’t think they are going to relish a visit from League 2 side Northampton Town who are unbeaten in their last 5 and have already disposed of League 1 opposition in this competition (Colchester 3-2).
Millwall have only kept 1 clean sheet at home so far this season in all competitions. Northampton have failed to score in just 1 games in all competitions. Game on for BTTS I’d say!
This BTTS treble pays around £140 for a £10 stake when you open an 888sport account and grab their treble the odds offer. It only pays around £50 elsewhere
