After narrowly missing out with last weekend’s treble, we’re hoping to bag our first winner of 2016 on Saturday with this mixed lot of league and cup matches.
We’re backing six teams to score and if they all find the target then it’ll be a 48/10 winner to get us up and running. Or if you’ve yet to join 888sport, then their sign up bonus will boost those winnings to over £140 from a tenner.
Good luck!
Northampton Town V MK Dons
It’s the third round of the FA Cup and there are bound to be a few upsets during the weekend’s action. League Two high-flyers Northampton will certainly fancy their chances against Championship strugglers MK Dons, and it should make for a terrific spectacle at the Sixfields Stadium.

Chris Wilder’s men have won nine of their last 10 competitive matches, and have scored in each of their last 15. The step up in quality shouldn’t faze them too much, especially as the visitors aren’t exactly enjoying the best season. At worst, the hosts would expect the firepower of Marc Richards and co to cause some problems.
The Dons aren’t in great form but four of their last five matches have been BTTS winners. Meanwhile, Karl Robinson’s men should be expected to find the target and, in truth, the likes of Nicky Maynard and Simon Church shouldn’t have any trouble converting any chances that come their way.
We wouldn’t like to predict the outcome, but both teams can be confident of goals.

Barnet V Bristol Rovers
In League Two, Darrell Clarke’s Bristol Rovers are in fantastic form and will be aiming to give their promotion bid another boost as they head to lowly Barnet. However, they shouldn’t expect things all their own way at the Hive as the hosts are a much stronger outfit on home soil.
The Bees have won seven of their 12 home fixtures, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process. Moreover, striker John Akinde should be in good spirits as he looks to increase his tally of 10 goals while the likes of Aaron McLean and Michael Gash are also more than capable of finding the target.
However, the hosts have concede 13 times on the road, which will give confidence to an away side that’s posted 19 away from the Memorial Ground. Matty Taylor will be in particularly hopeful of adding to his 13 league strikes , and we’d expect the visitors to find the net.
We could easily see four or five goals in this one. Back both teams to score.

Bromley V Southport
Our final selection comes from the Courage Stadium as Bromley face Southport in what should be a cracking contest in the Conference. We have every reason to fancy goals between two sides in great scoring form.
The hosts have scored five in their two most recent matches while they’ve managed to find the target in every home match this season. However, Mark Goldberg’s men haven’t won any of their last five matches here and should be quite worried against a vastly improved Southport.
Southport have won five on the spin and new boss Dino Maamria has worked wonders with the Haig Avenue club. They have only kept one shutout in those last five matches, though, and can expect to be put under pressure from Moses Ademola and co here.
Last month’s reverse clash ended in a 5-3 thriller. Even if there’s not quite as much drama this time, we do expect goals at both ends.
