@Footyexperttips won the August monthly prize in the GGT BTTS competition – predicting 10 winners from a total of 12 picks throughout the month. Here are his best tips for this weekends games.
What a start to the BTTS competition which ended in myself and @RedTipster having to take it to a playoff on Sunday..I was well happy to finish with another treble and grab the top spot!!
To start September off with a treble would be good and I’ve looked long and hard into this weeks picks which are proving a little trickier with only 2 English leagues playing.

Montrose vs Elgin
I’m starting off this week in the Scottish 2nd division which as we all know sees its fair share of goals .
Montrose will be happy with the start they’ve made after finishing last season rock bottom on the division.
Elgin go into this game joint top which can soon change at this early stage of the season.
Both sides have averaged 2 goals per league game and looking at previous Head to heads this will again see goals.
In the previous 7 games at Links Park against Elgin 6 of these have finished with both teams scoring, and plenty of goals too. Montrose 18 times & Elgin 16. I’m confident this will be just the same.
BET: Both teams to score at 8/13
Chesterfield vs Wigan
Into the English leagues now for my next 2 picks, starting off with fellow Yorkshire side Chesterfield who are up against a Wigan team fighting to stop the recent rot.
Chesterfield signed Ebanks-Blake during the summer and has already shown he’s still got the goal scoring touch which he should do all season in league 1. With him upfront they will always be a threat.
Wigan have seen a little turn in form for the best the last couple of weeks and come into the game on the back of 2 wins from 3 and a bit of confidence.
Gary Caldwell brought in 3 new faces at the end of the transfer window, 1 of these been Haris Vuckic from Newcastle who is likely to feature and will cause problems for sure.
With both teams among the favourites for promotion I expect an open game with both teams having good options going forward.
BET: Both teams to score at 8/11
Exeter vs Leyton Orient
Down into League 2 for my final pick.
Leyton Orient sit proud at the top of the league with a 100% start to the league season, finding the net easy to come by. The goals they have conceded have all come away from home.
Exeter on other hand have shown good home form, recently beating a good Portsmouth side in the cup midweek.
The away trip to Sunderland last week also saw them find the net 3 times so we know the goals are there..
With Will Hoskins also nearly 100% fit this will prove even better going forward.
I’m expecting goals in this and can see Exeter been dangerous for Table topping Orient and don’t expect to be disappointed.
Good luck to all if you’re following the treble.
BET: Both teams to score at 4/6
