The stat based approach to both teams to score continues to harvest a great crop which means that we’ll continue to provide plenty of our selections after the numbers have been crunched.
Here is what we think will bring the goals in the weekend ahead.
Good luck if you use the selections for your own bets!
Derby County v Birmingham City 3.00pm Saturday
Derby County fans will be wondering if this could be the start of a mini crisis after losing their last two games by a 0-2 scoreline ( v Fulham and Brighton) and they will be keen to stop the rot against mid table Birmingham… Although this may be harder than it first appears.
Birmingham – in complete contrast to Derby County, have picked up maximum points in their last two games (both by a 1-0 scoreline) and confidence will be sky high for this visit to the iPro Stadium.
However, you simply can’t imagine that Derby will fail to score in front of home fans… Only Millwall back in October have left the iPro with a clean sheet intact. Add that to the fact that Birmingham have scored in all of their last 5 games (8 goals scored) and I think that a Derby win might be expected as well as both team scoring.

Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough 3.00pm Saturday
Forest suffered their first defeat under Dougie Freedman midweek, but one thing is for sure – he’s transformed the attitude at the club. Goals have been flying in since his arrival and I expect that to continue against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Boro haven’t been scoring a massive amount of goals recently, but that should’nt put you off. Forest’s new attacking style encourages pressure from their opponents so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a hatful of goals in this clash.
My prediction would be a 2-2 draw but as we know, the actual score means nothing at all as long as both teams hit the back of the net.

Rochdale v Colchester United 3.00pm Saturday
This is a game that looks lively for goals. Rochdale have failed to score in just 4 of their 16 home games to date, and from the bottom half of the table only Fleetwood have left Spotland with a clean sheet.
Visitors Colchester have been mixing it with some of League One’s better teams recently and have been managing to score goals against them… An encouraging sign for BTTS. It wouldn’t surprise me if Colchester actually got something from this game, although BTTS is all I’m interested in.

Halifax Town v Dartford 3.00pm Saturday
Dartford are a side I’ll continue to follow for BTTS until they let me down. They’re on a run of 10 consecutive BTTS games, and while they are battling relegation they are fighting for their lives and managing to find the net.
Halifax are a better quality side than Dartford that’s for sure but they’ve been lacking goals on the whole… This match with Dartford is likely to change that. Halifax want to push for the play offs and as mentioned Dartford are fighting for survival. Expect goals from both teams here.
