Norwich City V Blackburn Rovers

BTTS & Norwich City Win @ 17/5 with William Hill

Norwich City may have suffered defeat in their opening game against Wolves on the opening weekend but the recently relegated Canaries claimed a first win of the season with a resounding 3-0 win over 10-man Watford on Saturday and can keep their 100% record at Carrow Road going against Blackburn.

Rovers have picked up four points from a possible six so far and will be confident of goals against Neil Adams’ men. Both of their previous matches have ended in BTTS winners, though, and we would expect the hosts to build on their 3-0 demolition of the Hornets by finding the target on several occasions here.

Blackburn struggled to beat a depleted Blackpool on Saturday and Tuesday’s clash will be a much tougher task for Gary Bowyer’s side. Nevertheless, with Rudy Gestede entering the game on the back of two weekend goals and Jordan Rhodes still searching for his first of the season, the visitors will pose a constant threat. We’ve already seen them find the net against one of last year’s Premier League sides and there is no reason that they can’t make it three scoring games on the bounce at Carrow Road.

However, the Canaries will be favourites in this clash and a win here would provide a huge lift in their bid for some much needed early season momentum.

Bristol City V Leyton Orient

BTTS & Bristol City Win @ 10/3 with William Hill

League One favourites Bristol City have kicked off their campaign with back-to-back wins and the Robins will be looking to complete the hat-trick as they welcome Leyton Orient to the County Ground. However, Steve Cotterill’s side can expect to be pushed all the way by the O’s on Tuesday night.

The one thing fans will anticipate from this encounter is goals. So far these sides have been involved in six league and cup matches and all of those have ended with both teams on the scoresheet and a minimum of three goals; we’re predicting that the sequence will be extended in a feisty home win.

Both teams will be out to attack as they look for early season form but it is the hosts who should enjoy the better chances. That’s not to say that Russell Slade’s side won’t create opportunities, but the Robins are playing with a real cutting edge right now and are certainly capable of holding onto their top of the table status.

With Aaron Wilbraham adding firepower to a frontline that already boasted Sam Baldock, City can be confident of goals here. However, we think the O’s will at least get a consolation. This one has potential to be the game of the night.

Shrewsbury Town V Accrington Stanley

BTTS Yes & Shrewsbury Town Win @ 3/1 with William Hill

Our final selection comes from action in League Two as Shrewsbury aim to pile more misery on an Accrington Stanley side who still seek their first points of the new season.

Despite suffering three consecutive defeats in all competitions, James Beattie’s side can at least take heart from the fact they’ve scored in each of the past two outings and should be optimistic about their chances of notching at the New Meadow.

Shrewsbury have already conceded three goals in just two league matches. However, that hasn’t prevented Micky Mellon’s side from earning a satisfactory four points and the hosts will be favoured to make that seven from a possible nine against the early season strugglers.

The recently relegated Shrews are hoping to bounce back to League One at the first attempt in 2014/15 and three points here would definitely help their cause. If Stanley score, this selection has a great chance of winning.
