The month of December is crucial to any Premier League campaign and 2014/15 looks set to be no different with teams vying for points over the busy festive schedule.
All 20 clubs are in action over the midweek schedule and there are six games to look forward to on Tuesday night. We’re on this BTTS treble at odds of just over 5/1
This time last week we bagged a terrific winner, let’s hope for more of the same here.
Burnley V Newcastle United
Our first selection comes from Turf Moor as Sean Dyche’s Clarets aim to continue their recent revival against Alan Pardew’s Magpies.
Burnley’s overall record may be a cause for concern but the hosts have netted in six of their last seven, including each of their past four home encounters. They additionally hold the momentum of picking up seven points from an available nine and the partisan home crowd will ensure a fantastic atmosphere.
Despite their weekend loss to West Ham, Newcastle are in great form also. A run of five straight wins had seen them climb up to fifth in the table, less than two months after being bottom, and they’ll be highly motivated as they aim to find a return to winning ways here.
This probably isn’t going to be the most exciting contest of the night, but with the likes of Danny Ings, Ayoze Perez and Papiss Cisse on the pitch there is no reason that it should be dull. Back both teams to score.
BTTS Yes @ 5/6
Swansea City V QPR
Harry Redknapp’s Hoops climbed off the bottom thanks to a splendid 3-2 win over Leicester last weekend and they’ll be looking to go one better by escaping the relegation zone with a positive result at Swansea.
The R’s recorded an incredible 32 shots at goal against the Foxes and can use that momentum at the Liberty. Seeing Crystal Palace pick up a point in Wales on Saturday will provide another source of inspiration and the in-form Charlie Austin is certainly capable of finding the target.
Nonetheless, QPR’s defensive wobbles could be their downfall against Garry Monk’s side. The Swans have found the net in eight of nine competitive home games this term and should have no trouble netting against the division’s leakiest backline.
Swansea’s last three matches have ended with both teams on the scoresheet. Back that to happen once again here.
BTTS Yes @ 5/6
West Bromwich Albion V West Ham United
The high-flying Hammers have played six away games this season and each of them has ended in a BTTS winner. We’re backing them to keep that trend going as they travel to the Hawthorns.
Sam Allardyce’s men got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 1-0 win at home to Newcastle and his side will be confident against a Baggies team that has lost three on the bounce. However, there are still a lot of injuries in the Hammers squad and that could prove crucial as they take to the field for a second time in four days.
West Brom have failed to score in three games. Fortunately, 10 of their 13 league goals were scored at the Hawthorns so there is no reason for Alan Irvine’s men to be frightened ahead of this midweek fixture.
Nevertheless, West Ham are doing brilliantly this season and are a real threat going forward. We’d expect them to score one at the very least.
BTTS Yes @ 4/5
