Our first selection comes from Tannadice, where Dundee United will be determined to get their season up and running with a win over newly promoted Hearts. However, David Bowman’s men will know that they’re in for a truly difficult contest.
The hosts have picked up just one point from the last available 21 in the SPL, which unsurprisingly leaves them rock bottom. A defence that has shipped nine goals in just five home games is their main problem, and we can’t see them keeping out their high-flying visitors.

Olympique Marseille might be one of the biggest clubs in French football, but problems off the field have hindered the progress massively on it in 2015/16 and they enter this weekend’s clash sitting dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Despite their poor form overall, they do boast 12 goals at the Stade Velodrome, which is more than any other Ligue 1 side has managed at home. Moreover, Michel’s men have been involved in five straight BTTS winners in the league, which gives us huge amounts of confidence for this pick.
Meanwhile, the visitors have scored five and conceded eight from their four matches on the road. The last three of those have all ended with goals at both ends too while last season’s corresponding clash ended 5-3 to the visitors.

Newcastle United V Norwich City. 4PM
It has been a truly horrendous start to life at St James’ Park for Steve McClaren, but his Magpies side must see a home game against newly promoted Norwich as the perfect opportunity to get their season up and running. Even if they can’t snatch the points, they’ll still be confident of goals.
The Magpies might be in the relegation zone, but they have notched five goals in just four home matches and will take huge confidence from the recent win over champions Chelsea. With the visitors failing to keep a single shutout on the road this term, it’s a great chance for the hosts to score.
However, Alex Neil’s men have scored six goals in four away games and will be equally optimistic against one of the division’s poorest sides. With the likes of Nathan Redmond and Cameron Jerome in their side, the Canaries should pose an attacking threat throughout.
It’s not quite the Super Sunday clash that the neutral will be overly excited about. But there should be a strong chance of goals. Let’s hope that’s how things develop.
