It’s a new month and we’re looking to celebrate it in style with this 11/2 BTTS treble at SkyBet.
We’re backing these six teams to all find the net at some stage during the afternoon and are hopeful of landing this weekend winner.
[ninja-inline id=3937]Aston Villa V Everton
Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Everton have both enjoyed huge improvements in recent weeks and we’re anticipating a fittingly exciting contest at Villa Park.
The Villans have been much better since appointing Tim Sherwood, securing a spot in the FA Cup final in addition to pulling themselves towards Premier League safety. However, the hosts still have some work to do in order to cement their top-flight status and will be hopeful of gaining at least one point here.
A revitalised Christian Benteke has been instrumental to Villa’s revival, whilst the likes of Fabian Delph and Gabriel Agbonlahor have also increased their presence in the final third. However, they could be in for a tough test against a Toffees side that has now won five of its last six matches.
Confidence is high amongst both camps and we’d expect an attacking philosophy from each manager. Let’s hope that results in goals.
[alert style=”warning”]BTTS Yes @ 4/5 with SkyBet[/alert]Northampton Town V Wycombe Wanderers
Gareth Ainsworth’s Chairboys need a minor miracle to gain automatic promotion to League One but will be fully focused on completing their task as they head to the Sixfields stadium. However, the Wanderers shouldn’t expect to have things all their own way against a very capable Cobblers.
Northampton aren’t the best in League Two but a return of 13 home wins is extremely impressive, as is their tally of 37 goals. Chris Wilder’s side are blessed with a number of quality attacking players, led by 18-goal striker Marc Richards, and will be fancied to find the target in this final match of the season, particularly against an out-of-form Wycombe.
The visitors have been poor in recent weeks but a record of 24 away goals still stands out as a very promising statistic. Moreover, the incentive to rebuild momentum ahead of the inevitable play-off campaign should encourage the likes of Paul Hayes and Fred Onyedinma to put in a strong performance.
Goals have been a frequent occurrence for both teams in 2014/15. Expect their seasons to end in fitting style.
[alert style=”warning”]BTTS Yes @ 17/20 with SkyBet[/alert]Portsmouth V York City
Our final selection comes from Fratton Park as Pompey look to end their season on a high under caretaker boss Gary Waddock.
Pompey have been atrocious on the road but their home form has been comparable with those teams sitting in the play-offs and the hosts will be eager to bring the curtain down on a stressful season with a 12th home win. A return of 33 goals is promising, as is the threat of January signing Matt Tubbs.
However, Russell Wilcox’s Minstermen are no strangers to goals away from home and boast 29 on the road already and the likes of Jake Hyde will be eager to punish a Pompey defence that has leaked 53 goals this season. However, the visitors have conceded 29 on their travels also and seem unlikely to keep a clean sheet here.
The two teams cancelled each other out in a 0-0 stalemate at Bootham Crescent but we suspect the lack of pressure in this match will result in a much more open affair. Back both teams to score.
