Fans of Europe’s big leagues will already be counting down the days until football returns, but the continent’s minor leagues are still in action and that gives us a great chance to bash the bookie this weekend with a BTTS treble.
We’re backing these six teams to all find the net during Saturday’s action and, at odds of over 3/1, we think it’s great value for a summer punt.
Good luck.
Utsiktens BK V Ljungskile. 3PM
This weekend’s round of fixtures will bring Sweden’s second tier to its halfway point and Janne Carlsson’s men are in desperate need of a result as they look to move away from the relegation scrap. However, they should be in for a tough test as they welcome a Ljungskile to the Ruddalens.
The hosts haven’t been great this season but last week’s 3-0 triumph over Varnamo should inspire confidence. Utsiktens have now netted 10 times from their seven home matches, conceding seven in the process. We expect them to score but just can’t see them keeping another clean sheet against a superior opponent.
Meanwhile, Ljungskile boast eight goals for and nine against from their seven Superettan away games. Tor Arne Fredheim’s side do have some pretty decent firepower and shouldn’t have too much trouble scoring here, especially after scoring seven in their past two matches alone.
This is a contest that could go either way. Either way, we’re expecting goals.
BTTS Yes @ 4/6
Paide Linnameeskond V Parnu Linnameeskond. 6:45PM
It’s a battle of the bottom in Estonia’s Meistriliiga as Paide face Parnu. This is a must win contest for both clubs and we should be in for an explosive affair in what is normally a very high scoring division.
Meelis Rooba’s hosts do have goals in their team and will be looking to veteran striker Vjateslav Zahovaiko to increase his tally of seven league goals. Paide boast 16 goals in 15 matches and should be extremely confident about finding the net against an away side that has leaked 39 this season.
However, Paide have shipped 37 goals themselves so the visitors should have no worries about scoring either. Parnu will seek confidence from last weekend’s home win over Tulevik and will be eager to follow that with a positive result here.
The last meeting ended 2-2 back in March. We wouldn’t be against another score draw on Saturday.
BTTS Yes @ 2/5
Cobh Ramblers V UC Dublin. 7:45PM
Our final selection comes from Ireland’s First Division as high-flying UCD look to keep their title push going with three points at St Coleman’s Park.
The visitors have scored 29 goals in 15 matches this season and should have no fears about facing Cobh Ramblers. UCD have no less than four players on the league’s list of top 15 scorers this term, including 10-goal man Ryan Swan. Considering the hosts have also conceded 22 times already, it’s hard to see the away side firing a blank.
However, the hosts can be confident after picking up five points from their past three matches and Stephen Henderson’s men must take an attacking approach here. They managed to seal a 1-1 draw in the reverse clash earlier in the campaign and they could well sneak another positive result on home turf.
We’re edging towards an away win, but the hosts should at least score.
