Our attentions are cast north of the border for this Saturday’s BTTS treble and we’re hoping to bash the bookie for one last weekend in 2014.
We’ve had some fantastic winners already this season (including yesterdays Boxing Day treble) and are hoping that our one-off trip up north will provide one final hoorah. These selections don’t offer the biggest odds we’ve ever enjoyed, but nobody would turn down a 7/2 victory.
Alternatively you can add an extra two selections and qualify for BetVictor’s Back of the Net acca insurance.
Kilmarnock V Hamilton Academical
Our first selection comes from the SPL and we’re predicting an explosive affair at Rugby Park as Kilmarnock host Hamilton Academical.
Struggling Killie haven’t won any of their last eight competitive matches. Manager Allan Johnstone will also be aware that his side fired blanks in each of their past two games and will be desperate to rectify that problem during Saturday’s showdown.
The visitors are enjoying a fantastic season but Kilmarnock will take heart from the fact Hamilton have already shipped 12 in just nine away games. However, the newly promoted Academicals do boast two of the division’s top scorers and will certainly fancy their chances here.
We are edging towards another Hamilton victory, but do think the hosts will give them a run for their money.

Alloa Athletic V Queen of the South
Barry Smith’s Wasps are flailing in the Scottish Championship this season and could be in for another difficult afternoon against Queen of the South. However, they can at least look to find the net at Indodrill – thanks primarily to the quality of star striker Liam Buchanan.
The 29-year-old has hit eight goals this season, including one in each of his past three home appearances. Having returned to action against Hearts last Saturday, he’ll be eager to get back amongst the goals in this one and can be quietly confident against an away side who have conceded 16 times in just eight league trips on the road.
Despite that poor defensive record, Queen of the South will be slight favourites as they bid to get their promotion bid back on track. The visitors boast 15 away goals this term and should have no trouble increasing that tally here.
It would be a real surprise if James Fowler’s men fail to find the target. Odds of 4/6 for a home goal in a Scottish Championship game simply has to be taken.

Airdrie V Ayr United
The third tier of Scotland is notorious for goals and there should be plenty of action as Airdrie take on Ayr United.
Just one point separates these two sides before kick-off and that should lend to an attack-minded contest between two evenly matched rivals. They’ve scored a combined total of 43 from 33 matches this term, conceding a cumulative 51during that period.
Ayr boast three players in the division’s top 15 individual scorers but it is the home side that enter this clash in the superior form. The hosts have picked up five points from the last available nine, whereas the visitors boast just one. However, despite the contrast in form, the goals have flowed for both clubs with each of those six games ending in BTTS winners.
September’s reverse fixture ended in a 3-2 win for Airdrie. Another five-goal thriller would suit us just fine.
