It’s early days in the 2012/13 season and it won’t be long until the goals are flying in and we know exactly which teams are the ones to follow for both teams to score.
This week there are a few games that stick out like a sore thumb and I’ve put them in a 4 timer with the hope of a nice return.
Here are my best bets for this Saturday:
Chelsea v Newcastle 5.30 ko
The Blues started the season with a 2-0 win over Wigan, but it’s the manner of their 3-2 win over Reading on Wednesday that makes the both teams to score bet appeal here.
Chelsea went 2-1 down in the first half at home to Reading before turning the game around, and if a team goes to Stamford Bridge with an attacking attitude, I’m sure plenty of goals will be scored by the visitors.
Newcastle are a potent attacking force and I’m pretty sure they can score past a Chelsea defence which isn’t quite as solid these days.
Score prediction – 3-1
Norwich v QPR 3.00 ko
Both teams lost 5-0 last weekend and if that’s not a good sign that defences are likely to concede then I don’t know what is!
I fancy QPR to take the win here, but Norwich are always likely to grab a goal at Carrow Road.
Score prediction – 1-2
Blackpool v Ipswich 3.00 ko
These teams were two of the best for both teams to score last season, and their attacking natures should more or less guarantee a glut of goals.
The Tractor Boys have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 games in all competitions, and with Blackpool pressing high up the pitch I’m expecting a good few goals here.

Southampton v Wigan 3.00 ko
Southampton showed their intentions last week in their 3-2 loss at the Etihad against Manchester City, and I think The Saints will be a team to follow this year for goals galore.
Wigan were always going to be up against it at Chelsea last weekend, and with Southampton playing very attacking football, they are always susceptible to a counter attack.
Score prediction – 2-1
