The festive period is upon us and the next few weeks will form a pivotal part of the season for all 92 league clubs, which should make for some fantastic encounters packed with plenty of goals.
We’re looking to take advantage on Saturday with this BTTS treble. At odds of 4/1 with Ladbrokes, it would provide a lovely start to the holiday season.
Game on!
Huddersfield Town V Birmingham City
Championship club Birmingham City have fared much better since appointing Gary Rowett as their new manager, as was highlighted by last weekend’s thunderous 6-1 win over Reading, and we think the Blues can keep their improved form going as they take on Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium.
However, the Terriers are scoring plenty of goals at home and Chris Powell’s men will be eager to exploit Birmingham’s defensive shortcomings on Saturday – especially after beating high-flying Brentford in their most recent home game.
Huddersfield do have defensive issues of their own, though, with only Fulham leaking more goals in the Championship this season. The hosts know they might need to score at least twice to grab the full three points, but Birmingham don’t keep too many clean sheets and opportunities will come.
Both teams will fancy their chances of scoring the victory and that should lend to an attack-minded affair. Back both teams to score.

Gillingham V Chesterfield
Goals have been a common feature for both Gillingham and Chesterfield this season and that is unlikely to dry up as they do battle in this crucial League One fixture.
Peter Taylor’s men are unbeaten in six competitive matches, with six of their last seven ending in BTTS winners. Meanwhile, the Spireites are unbeaten in four away games and additionally boast the division’s top scorer.
Gillingham might not have any players capable of matching the 16 goals of Chesterfield’s Owen Doyle, but the likes of Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell would still be fancied to convert any chances that come their way.
The last head-to-head meeting at Priestfield ended in a 1-1 draw. A similar result wouldn’t surprise us here.

Carlisle United V Northampton Town
Our final selection comes from League Two as the Cobblers head to Brunton Park.
The visitors have lost three of their past four League Two encounters but are still finding the target on a regular basis, registering just one blank in their last five. Meanwhile, three of those were BTTS winners, which is another reason to be confident about this selection.
Chris Wilder’s men are hardly the most consistent side in the division but this is a great opportunity for an away win against the club currently sitting 91st in the Football League. However, the Cumbrians have notched 17 in just 10 home games this season so Keith Curle can be quietly confident as his side look to escape the dreaded bottom two.
Nevertheless, you cannot overlook the fact they’ve also shipped 17 home goals. Back both teams to score.
