International week making you feel more depressed than Saido Berahino after failing to seal a move away from West Brom? Well, hopefully this 83/1 Saturday afternoon treble will put the smile back on your face.
We’re backing three teams to all win their respective games without keeping a shutout. And if they do, we’ll be absolutely laughing with over £832 profit from a routine £10 stake.
Good luck!
Oxford United v Rochdale
It has been a truly horrendous start to the League One campaign for Keith Hill’s Rochdale and they currently sit in the dreaded drop zone heading into this weekend’s action. While they’ll be eager to climb out with a vital win at Oxford, the host may have some other ideas up their sleeves.
The visitors can score goals, and have done so in four of six league and cup matches this term. Ian Henderson and co. are more than capable of finding the target once again against a home side who currently sit 18th. However, their defensive weaknesses could cause more than a few issues as they look to kickstart their season at the Kassam.
Oxford haven’t been in great form but Tuesday’s 4-2 cup win may provide a boost in confidence for Michael Appleton’s men. Wesley Thomas and Kane Hemmings each have two league goals this term, and will be eager to build on those tallies against struggling visitors too. Those attacking talents could be key to sealing three points, even if a first league shutout of the campaign looks unlikely.
We’re backing a home win, but do think Dale will at least score.
BTTS & Oxford Win @ 7//2
Morecambe v Leyton Orient
In League Two, a lot of people expect Leyton Orient to be fighting for the title. However, it’s Morecambe who are the early pacesetters and the Shrimps could fire a huge signal of intent by registering another vital three points at the Globe Arena.
The league leaders are on a run of four straight wins in the league, scoring four in their two home games so far. They may have only conceded once in that time, but the visiting Os have scored three in two away games and re more than capable of grabbing another here.
Orient’s main problem, however, will be defensively. Andy Hessenthaler’s men have conceded in both away games this term, keeping just one clean sheet overall, and could find it tough going against an in-form Morecambe.
The recent results of both teams would suggest goals. On this occasion, we have to fancy Morecambe to sneak the points.
BTTS & Morecambe Win @ 11/2
Eastleigh v North Ferriby United
Since gaining promotion from the Conference North, North Ferriby United have struggled to cope with the step up in quality. On the road, Steve Housham’s men have leaked 10 goals in just three matches; those defensive weaknesses are likely to end in another loss at Eastleigh on Saturday.
After all, Ronnie Moore’s men are expected to at least challenge for the play-offs while they enter this match having won each of their last two, hitting seven goals in the process. In young French striker Mikael Mandron, the hosts seem to have a natural scorer too, and those goals should be too much for the visitors.
The main issue of this bet is whether the visitors will score, especially as they’ve only scored once on the road and Eastleigh have kept three clean sheets on the bounce. However, these runs never lasts too long in the Conference National while North Ferriby know that they need to start placing more emphasis on attack.
Given that an away goal should see this bet win, even the relatively short price of 15/8 is fair.
