The international break is over, and I’m back with some anytime goalscorer tips for Saturday’s action.
After a week off, team from the top two tiers will be eager to hit the ground running as we approach the Xmas period. I think I’ve found three great singles on the goalscorer market. And at odds of 35/1 for the treble, I’ll be having a cheeky tenner on that one too.
Care to join me? Because here are my selections…
Everton V Aston Villa. 3PM
BET: Romelu Lukaku to score anytime @ Evens with Betfred
I can’t be the only one that thinks it’s an absolute joy to have Romelu Lukaku back to his best. On his day, the Belgian is unstoppable. Can anybody really see the struggling Villains posing any real resistance at Goodison Park?
Ok, so Aston Villa used the boost of losing Tim Sherwood to great effect against Man City. Remi Garde has so much work to do at Villa Park, though, and I can see Roberto Martinez’s men having a field day here.

If the visitors do come stuck against the Toffees, then there’s only one man anyone will be backing for goals. Lukaku’s scored in each of his last two Premier League outings, and has looked a real handle in both. There’s no reason to think he’ll slow down against Villa.
Everton hit six past Sunderland in their last home game. If they can even hit a third of that on Saturday, I’d fancy this selection to win.
Swansea City V Bournemouth. 3PM
BET: Jefferson Montero to score anytime @ 6/1 with Betfred
If press reports are to be believed, Garry Monk is fighting for his job. The return from an international break offers a great chance to start afresh. Quite frankly, a home match against Bournemouth is the perfect fixture to get their season back on track.
The man I’m backing to score is Jefferson Montero. The speed demon is yet to find the net this season, but this could be the perfect opportunity. He certainly operates from an advanced enough role to do so. If the Cherries show the defensive shortcomings of recent weeks, any of the home players could be a good shout.
My only major concern for this bet is the fact Montero played twice for Ecuador during the break. He could miss out, which would mean a refund. On the other hand, Swansea need their best players to get this much needed result. I think he’ll play.
If he does, there’s no reason to think he can’t follow up Tuesday’s international goal with a first Premier League strike of the season too.
Leeds United V Rotherham United. 3PM
BET: Chris Wood to score anytime @ 8/5 with Betfred
In spite of the team’s poor start to the season, Leeds United’s main man has six league goals to his name already this term. I’ve got to fancy him to extend that tally in a home derby against rock-bottom Rotherham.
The Elland Road club seem to have turned a corner since the arrival of Steve Evans, who ironically used to manage the Millers. They won back-to-back matches before the international break, with Wood scoring in his most recent performance.
Moreover, the New Zealander scored during the international break too. Can he make it a hat-trick against Rotherham, I’d certainly like to think so. The visitors have lost four straight matches and conceded 15 in eight away games. You’d like to think Leeds will win, and Wood would have to be the main candidate for goals.
If he, along with the Premier League duo, does find the target, the drinks are on me!
That’s because a £10 treble would return a huge £364 at Betfred!
