It’s Valentine’s weekend and I’ll be absolutely loving it if this trio of Premier League strikers all find the target on Saturday afternoon.
As always, I’ll be playing all three bets as single, in addition to the treble. Two winners is likely to see a tidy profit while a treble would be fantastic.
Come on boys, please do it for Martin. Otherwise, Mrs Stallard will be going without a present.
Bournemouth V Stoke City. 3PM
BET: Benik Afobe to score anytime @ 13/8 with Paddy Power
The Cherries were brushed aside by Arsenal last weekend, but Eddie Howe’s men have a fantastic chance of bouncing back against Stoke. The Potters cannot defend without Ryan Shawcross at the back, and I’m backing Benik Afobe to capitalise.
Adobe had hit three on the bounce before facing his former club, and the 22-year-old has certainly enjoyed a productive start to life at Dean Court. If he continues as he’s started, he could be the man to fire the club to survival. I’ve no doubt he’ll get amongst the goals here.
If Stoke perform as they did against Everton, I wouldn’t be surprised if Afobe notches two or three. As it stands, the chance to nearly treble our money for one goal at any point in the 90 minutes is far too good to ignore.
Martin’s bet of the day: Afobe to score.
Everton V West Bromwich Albion. 3PM
BET: Romelu Lukaku to score anytime @ 10/11 with Paddy Power
Everton’s star man already boasts 16 goals this season. It looks likely that he’ll increase that tally by notching against one of his former clubs here.
Quite frankly, Romelu Lukaku is my favourite striker in the Premier League right now and the Belgian has been on absolute fire throughout 2015/16. He had endured a rare off spell before last week, but his penalty at Stoke will have settled his nerves.
The Toffees’ll be confident at Goodison Park, particularly given their recent improvements. Against a poor Baggies side, I can’t see any reason that they won’t create chances for their inspirational striker.
More importantly, I can’t see Lukaku passing up those golden opportunities. Back the Belgian to score.
Chelsea V Newcastle United. 5:30PM
BET: Diego Costa to score anytime @ 5/6 with Paddy Power
Saturday’s evening kick-off comes from Stamford Bridge and a resurgent Chelsea should claim the win. Assuming they do, it seems inevitable that Diego Costa will be on the scoresheet.
The fiery Spaniard has been in much better form recently, scoring in four of his last five at Stamford Bridge. I see no reason why he can’t hit his 10th league goal of the campaign against struggling Newcastle.
I know a lot of people have applauded the Magpies for their January dealings, but they’re still far from great. I think they’ll come up short against the champions and Costa will put them to sword.
If he’s joined on the scoresheet by Lukaku and Afobe, I’ll be jumping for joy. After all, a £10 treble returns an impressive £91.60 with Paddy Power. I’ll have some of that.
